About us
Formerly known as Country Pumpkins, the Patch is part of Lower House Farm. A family-run farm only a minute from Ledbury, and a short drive from the Cities of Hereford & Worcester, and Gloucester.
Our farm spreads out over 500 acres of beautiful Herefordshire countryside. The Patch is our way of sharing it with you, whilst providing a paradise for birds & bees to thrive. You’ll see lots of them as you wander throughout the patch.
In 2020 we started out with just the Pumpkins and through continued success, we now operate seasonally from July – December. There’s something for the whole family at the Patch.
Choose from a variety of seasonal experiences. In Summer you’ll find beautiful picking flowers and many sizes & varieties of sunflowers. Then in Autumn we have our popular pumpkin picking season.
During the pumpkin season, watch out for dates and info on our social media for details regarding late night picking. We typically do several each season.
We continue to grow and in 2024 we introduced The Christmas Tree shop, which is open from November, through December. Bookings for Christmas Trees are free.
What can you do when you’re here?
Once here, you will be able to surround yourself with nature, enjoy a picnic, and plenty of fun activities. Flowers & Pumpkins are sold by weight, sunflowers by the stem, and Christmas trees by size.
Plus! Don’t forget about our delicious pizza and other hot/cold beverages served from our onsite café, The Bull Pen.
There are also several public footpaths accessible from the Patch, if you fancy a longer walk before enjoying refreshments.

We are easy to find, and only one minute from the Ledbury bypass.
Gilbert’s Farm, Lilly Hall Lane, Little Marcle – HR8 2LD.
Watch out for signs pointing the way. You’ll spot signs at the entrance to the lanes leading to the Patch on the A4172, A449, and the Ledbury bypass. Parking is free, and there’s lot of space in our modern farm yard, and it’s all concrete and gravel – which means no muddy cars and no getting stuck!
A range of refreshments, including our popular pizzas are available from the Bull Pen Café located at the entrance, as are basic toilet facilities.
